The modern day economy is widely relying on massproduced industrial goods for general consumption. This has replaced craft manufacturing to a large extent. Industrial plants are the place were the core activities of manufacturing taking place. This can be for the production of chemicals, food, steel, machinery, clothing and many other goods. South Africa is a semi-industrialized country and hence there are many industrial plants already in place. Main industries relate to mining and these would be steel manufacturing plants or ore refineries down stream the industrial supply chain. Of course there are also food processing plants and furniture manufacturing plants as well as automotive production plants that play an important part within the South African economy.
